Abstract

The article examines the relevance of the process of forming competencies for students of higher education programs. Competencies are based on practice-oriented project activities on the case of a real tourist and hotel complex with the aim of introducing creative solutions into practical use. This form of interaction between the student community of the University and business coincides with the objectives of the Startup as a Diploma program launched by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and aimed at involving talented students in the development of the technological entrepreneurship ecosystem. In accordance with the passport of this program, which from 2021 is planned to introduce the practice of accounting for graduate qualification works in the form of startups. This program also aims to support early stage businesses. The article identifies the main stages of work on the project, which include not only the development of original ideas for a unique concept, but also the assessment of the territory and its potential tourist resources, the development of architectural, planning and technological solutions, the calculation of costs and performance indicators of an innovative project and other design solutions. An important feature is additional opportunities for students, which are the acquisition of project teamwork skills on real projects and business tasks, the formation of an individual graduate portfolio with indicators of progress in project activities - along with the feedback from partner companies.
