Creative tourism development in Rostov region

The article deals with the topical issue of the creative tourism development in the Russian Federation. The author analyzes the concept of "creative tourism" in the development of the creative economy and the experience economy, its potential for the Rostov region development. Creative tourism is an impetus for developing human capital and the territory. As a hypothesis of the research, the author assumes that the creative component in tourism is currently the driver for small territories that do not have a large number of historical and cultural resources, as well as the activation of the indigenous population and human potential, as well as a powerful impetus for the domestic tourism development. Due to the difficult geopolitical situation in which the Russian Federation has been for several years, starting with the coronavirus pandemic, and later with a series of sanctions and a special military operation, the tourism sector has undergone significant changes. The basis of this study was information about the development of creative industries and the creative economy, which are fundamental for the development of creative tourism. The article presents the results of a retrospective analysis of the developing the concept of creative tourism, the process of its formation in the context of the development of the experience economy, as well as creative industries. The study reflects the available data on the current state of creative tourism in Russia and results of the analysis of the opportunities of Rostov region for the development of creative tourism.
